This is a Real PhotoCard picture of Dunstanburgh Castle C.1935. With an interest in old pictures and postcards going back a lot of years, photographer and author Don H Williams has been fascinated by scenes as they were more than a century ago. Of course photography was a lot different in the early days but the commercial experts knew all about re-touching, tinting and colouring their pictures to sell them to the collectors of the time, or for those that just bought them to send through the post. Then, there used to be two postal deliveries, and a postcard was a convenient way of sending a quick note or reminder to friends or family to arrive in the same day. In order to share these rare pictures, by digitally re-mastering the collection this has provided the opportunity for anyone to purchase nostalgic favourites - like this one. Improved and better than the old originals, these quality pictures are from our Real PhotoCards ‘Then’ series.
